Mission Statement
From the Hip Dance Project presents popular jazz dance experiences that create a playful world in which the boundaries
of a typical jazz "concert" are broken. The company strives to work closely with artists from other mediums, such as poetry,
music, and visual art to collaborate, thrive and push the envelope of what jazz dance is. With limited jazz companies in
Chicago, the company also gives jazz dancers in the Chicago area an opportunity to perform professionally.
